Preeti Agrawal was born 12th May 1985 in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. She graduated with a Bachelors degree from Lalit Kala Sansthan, B.R.Ambedkar University2005. She achieved a post-graduation qualification from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S.University, Vadodara 2008. Preeti has been honoured with a number of Scholarships and has participated in various exhibitions across India. Preeti’s works are complex in conception and execution, more so when we recognize printmaking as her chosen medium. Her colored woodcuts are of a strong graphic quality where strong outlines and graphic contours shape figures and their surroundings. Yet her compositions are full of planes and recessions where space is treated in little pockets or fragments to build up an overall architecture of form.

Her etchings show innumerable subtleties when it comes to the gradations of light and shades which she successfully uses to bring out the emotional character of her figures. Her art form is intense and with nuanced detail, signaling the depth of her involvement both physically and emotionally with a demanding medium ie wood-cut She has individually stretched the boundaries of what can be achieved with this medium through her passion and dedication to her narrative.
